To some, Microsoft’s early vision of “a PC on every desk and in every home” must have seemed like science fiction. But Bill Gates was passionate about this idea when he founded Microsoft in 1975. Today this vision is very nearly a reality.
Microsoft powers 90% of the world’s PCs, helping people do everything from sending e-mails, managing their music collections and photos or running businesses around the world. Microsoft was named the top European workplace among companies with more than 500 employees in the 2008 List of the Best Workplaces in Europe.
