Solving interaction design problems conceptually.- Providing expertly crafted documentation of a nature appropriate to the problem.
- To advice and help conduct user research when required.
- Mentoring and developing with the interaction design team members, providing them with reasoned critique where necessary.
- Working closely with developers and visual design to direct their work.

- Information architecture, usability, and accessibility.
- An understanding of mediums and their limitations.

- Design theory as applied to web technology.

- Basics of programming.
