How we use information gathered through this site

The Tech Partnership is committed to creating a website that is easy to use and is respectful of the user’s privacy. This privacy, acceptance and cookie policy explains how we use information we collect about you and how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use of such information.

Information gathered. We collect two types of information from you:

  •  information you submit to us
  •  information our site gathers automatically

Information you submit. If you wish, where available:

  • to access certain areas of the web site
  •  to purchase our products or make a donation
  • to register your interest in any promotions, projects, services, competitions etc offered on the website
  • us to contact you

We will normally require you to complete a registration form. Our registration form requires some basic information including contact information (name, address, and phone number), and payment information (if applicable) needed to process your order, register or enable us to contact you. There are also some non-required fields on our registration form that you may use to provide more data about yourself to help us provide you with tailored information.

By entering your details on any of the forms at the www.thetechpartnership.com, you hereby confirm that the Tech Partnership and/or e-skills UK may use such information for their internal business purposes including monitoring enquiries and compiling enquiry statistics for internal purposes. Nothing in this section affects your rights under the Data Protection Act 1998.

When filling out a form on this website, if you wish to be contacted by the Tech Partnership and about other services and information of potential interest and benefit to you and/or your organisation, you will be given the opportunity to tick the "opt-in" box provided at the end of each form.

Information our site gathers automatically (Cookies)

Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve our site. By continuing to browse the site, you are agreeing to our use of cookies.

Currently we operate an ‘implied consent’ policy which means that we assume you are happy with this usage. If you are not happy, then you should either not use this site, or you should delete the Tech Partnership cookies having visited the site.

How the Tech Partnership uses cookies:

Usage tracking. We welcome everyone to search and use our site without charge to view the information and materials available for purchase or made available free of charge. We use aggregated information to help us evaluate the information, training materials and other products and services, including any new offerings we make available on our websiteand to measure the use of our site and generally improve the content. Click through URLs. In some of our email communications, we may use a device called a "click-through URL." When you click on one of these URLs, you pass through our system before arriving at the websitethat is your true destination. www.thetechpartnership.com uses click-throughs to determine the level of interest in particular topics and to measure the effectiveness of our communications. We do not share this data with anyone.

What cookies does the Tech Partnership use?

The Tech Partnership uses a number of vetted and trusted suppliers who set cookies on our website. Below you will find information about the cookies used by these suppliers, as well as information on what they do.

Google Analytics

The Tech Partnership uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics sets a cookie in order to evaluate your use of the Tech Partnership’s website. Google stores the information collected by the cookie on servers in the United States. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

Twitter button

Twitter buttons allows you to access your Twitter account when on the Tech Partnership website – no data, apart from that consented to when signing up to Facebook is captured or transferred when visiting the Tech Partnership’s website.

ShareThis

ShareThis provides content syndication services to the Tech Partnership, allowing you to share content on our site through existing social networks and email systems you already sign up to.No data is captured or transferred when visiting the Tech Partnership’s website.

Google+

Google+ allows users to share content on the Tech Partnership’s website through their membership of Google’s social networking site: Google+

No data, apart from that consented to when signing up to Google+, is captured or transferred when visiting the Tech Partnership’s website.

Except for essential cookies, all cookies will expire after 30 days.

How to control and delete cookies

Cookies are used to enable us to improve services for you through, for example:

  •  remembering if you are logged in so you can move around the website without having to log in again on each page
  • measuring how many people are using each page of the website and for how long so that we can try to improve the quality of our website
  • enabling you to view content shared on other sites e.g. YouTube or Twitter

Use of information. We will only use any personally identifiable information to, where applicable

  • process an order where online ordering is available
  • register your interest in the Tech Partnership's work
  • improve our ability to serve you when you make an inquiry or request
  • contact you where you have asked us to do so

If you purchase products through our site or made a donation, we use your registration information to process your order(s) and to send you email about your orders. If you submit credit card information, we use that information to collect payment for your orders. www.thetechpartnership.com uses encryption technology to attempt to protect your credit card details however we cannot guarantee that such technology is totally private or secure. If you would prefer to make payment by another method please contact us to discuss this aspect.

The information you provide or we obtain from you via the www.thetechpartnership.com will be held primarily by the Tech Partnership Ltd. You agree that the information you provide may be shown to such of its employees as need to see it and, because the Tech Partnership and/or e-skills UK are sometimes funded by third parties in relation to specific projects or in connection with creating learning materials or in liaison with accreditation bodies, we may send it to such persons. You agree we may also share your information with third parties engaged to assist in the processing of any order, or in relation to any courses run or any other services provided to you.

We may also provide individually identifiable information to third parties in any case where it is required by law.

It is the Tech Partnership's and e-skills UK's policy not to disclose any individually identifiable information about site users to third parties without specific permission to do so. We do not sell users' names or email addresses to other companies to use to send unsolicited advertisements or mail.

Amending your information. You can, at any time, delete or change the information you submitted during registration by simply emailing us at feedback@thetechpartnership.com with your request. Please remember to let us know of any changes to the information provided.

Please contact the Tech Partnership if you would like your personal information removed. We will retain in our files information you have requested to remove in some circumstances, such as to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our Terms & Conditions. Further, such prior information is never completely removed from our databases due to technical constraints and the fact that we back up our systems. Therefore, you should not expect that all of your personally identifiable information will be completely removed from our databases in response to your requests that it be removed.

Updating the privacy policy. The Tech Partnership may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. Please check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of the Tech Partnership site following the posting of changes to this Statement means you accept the changes we make.
