Senior Business Relationship Manager

COMPANY: Transport for London

JOB TITLE: Senior Business Relationship Manager

  • Manage multiple accounts at a strategic level, building relationships at director level and with key decision makers across TfL
  • Managing and mentoring a team of BRMs, including graduates. Coaching, empowering and motivating team and ensuring they have the support and guidance required to perform their role effectively; supporting BRMs with their accounts. Establishing weekly team meetings, 121s and implementing team processes
  • Building open and honest relationships with senior stakeholders across TfL, promoting value-added, effective and efficient ways of working with IM. Making recommendations on customers IM requirements and future ways of working. Keep the customer abreast of developments across IM and pan - GLA as appropriate
  • Identifying quick wins and future opportunities for closer collaborative working with both the business and IM

RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:

BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology, 3 A Levels, 11 GCSEs

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years in Consultancy
  • 2 years in Marks & Spencer
  • 2 years in Merrill Lynch
  • 2 years in Network Rail
  • 5 years in Public Sector, including Greater London Authority (GLA) and TfL

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication, facilitating and influencing skills
  • Strong positive communicator – able to write convincingly and present effectively to a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to influence all levels, including suppliers and senior-level executives
  • Detail oriented but also able to see the big picture
  • Highly collaborative, able to work across different groups, influencing and promoting cohesiveness
  • Lateral thinker – able to spot linkages and dependencies
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Non-confrontational, highly persuasive, a real team player
  • Highly motivated, with a real passion for personal development
  • Strong strategic management and planning skills, particularly in business planning and organisational development
  • Strong aptitude for technology, able to learn concepts quickly and translate technical information into business language
