JOB TITLE: Technologist for BBC Backstage

• BBC Backstage is the developer community, it's all about sharing and development and being open with source code
• Role involves representing BBC Backtage at events
• Talking to people about how they can share their code, meeting new developers

RELATED DEGREE:

• Did a degree in Fine Arts and discovered Apple Macs at the end of the degree
• Did courses in Illustrator and Mac related courses
• XML and Javascript courses whilst at the BBC

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Started coding very young but didn't do much about it until after university
• Took opportunities to get involved with techy events whilst at the BBC

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Study hard
• Be passionate
• Keep trying and don't be put off if at first you don't get in straight away
• Keep asking people questions and put yourself forward for opportunities
