What's it all about?
The Diploma is an exciting and flexible qualification for 14 - 19
year olds, designed in partnership with universities and
employers. This means you will be developing the knowledge
and skills you will need for higher education and for work. You
can take GCSEs and A levels within, and in addition to, the
Diploma itself.

Q. Will this be different from what I learn in school at the moment?
The Diploma was designed inpartnership with universities and companies to teach important skills that will help you succeed in higher education and your career. Companies that helped develop the Diploma
include: BT, CA, Cisco, EDS, IBM, John Lewis, Logica, Microsoft, Oracle and Vodafone.
Q. Which companies helped to design this Diploma?
The Diploma teaches you about IT, which underpins everything from business to social interaction. If you are interested in technology, people, and solving real problems - it could be the qualification for you. Yes, you can. At level 3, the Diploma is worth up to 420 UCAS points (this is the same as 3.5 A levels).
Q. Can I do the Diploma and goto university?
You can take GCSEs (at level 1 and 2) and A levels (at level 3) as part of and/or in addition to the Diploma.
Q. Can I still do A levels / GCSEs with the Diploma?
Yes, the Diploma in IT is open to anyone. However, as well as being exciting, it is challenging and you will need to work hard to do well.
